Simon Pennock – Executive

Simon-Pennock

Simon graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Physics going on to a career in IT with IBM and EMC where he led the UK and Ireland business. He then embarked on an entrepreneurial career starting two IT businesses he subsequently sold to Dell and Accenture respectively.

He now is an active investor in sports startups aimed at helping children get affordable access to sports camps and athletic development and also grassroots clubs gaining greater sponsorship revenue to attract more participation.
He also is an angle investor in rural and community broadband initiatives, technology startups and health startups. He still plays rugby when he can.
Simon is very concerned about the underlying motives of social media companies and the focus on maximising eyes on smart phones and advertising revenues rather than the long term impact to the health of children and to the social fabric of society.
